Nathaniel Adams Coles, known by his stage name Nat King Cole, is an American singer, jazz pianist and actor. He has recorded over 100 songs that have become hits on the pop charts. His trio served as models for the small jazz groups that followed. Cole has also acted in films and television and performed on Broadway. He is the first African-American to host an American television show. He is the father of singer-songwriter Natalie Cole.
