Ara Galang is one of the most popular and richest Volleyball Player who was born on January 4, 1995 in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines. The next seasons, Galang was awarded Most Valuable Player along with Aby Marano, who won her third consecutive title in the UAAP Season 75 tournament. For the season of 76 they lost to the DLSU Lady Spikers lost to ADMU Lady Eagles ending their season as the league’s first second place finisher. She was named Best Attacker in the 2014 Philippine National Games. She was named the captain of the team in Season 77 of the Lady Spikers. She was the team captain who helped them achieve the top two place in the league with a winning record of 10-2 in the elimination round. Also, she was a leading contender along with Alyssa Valdez for the MVP award for the entire season. She tore her ACL as well as MCL ligaments and suffered a massive bone injury during their do-or-die stepladder game against National University on March 7 in 2015. She was not able to join her team for the finals, where they would face against the Ateneo Lady Eagles for the fourth time in a row. But, they were awarded as the first runner-up to the team. The same year, Galang, together with Kim Fajardo and Cyd Demecillo were recognized as the first runners of the beach volleyball competition. Galang returned to the sport with the UAAP Season 78 as she along with her teammates beat The Ateneo Lady Eagles winning the UAAP Season 78 Women’s Volleyball Championship tournament. Also, this was her final season as a player for the UAAP.
Victonara “Ara” Salas Galang is an award-winning Filipina volleyball athlete. She was an UAAP Player of the Year in the Season 74, and UAAP most valuable player for the season 75. She was the player captain (2014-2015) from team De La Salle University Lady Spikers.
She has been awarded her Sports Achievement Award and Class Valedictorian in Holy Family Academy in elementary school, and Athlete of Year as well as Class Valedictorian for the Angeles University Foundation High School and consistently on the Dean’s List at De La Salle University. She also was awarded the award for Best Server with Palarong Pambansa in 2011.
Galang began her professional career in the Philippine Super Liga, where she was selected as the first overall draft pick for the 2016 season for the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
